D6000–D380 Swing Gate

D6000–D380 Swing Gate (D380HD Drive) designed for demanding commercial and industrial environments, the D6000–D380 swing gate combines robust, fully welded steel construction with heavy-duty above-ground automation—delivering a high-performance solution for sites requiring strength, reliability, and continuous operation. Manufactured from fully welded mild steel, the D6000 is available in both single and double leaf configurations, with sizes up to 14m clear width and 5m in height—making it suitable for large vehicle access points and high-traffic installations.

Powered by the D380HD above-ground drive, the system is engineered for 100% duty cycle operation, providing continuous, reliable performance in intensive-use environments.

Capable of handling gate leaves up to 8.0m, the D380HD delivers the strength and durability required for heavy-duty applications where lesser drive systems would struggle.

D6000–D380 Swing Gate (D380HD Drive) Features

CONTROLLER

The controller is neatly located within the gate post, housing a FEIG control panel with software co-developed by Ultimation. This provides a highly configurable platform with hundreds of easily accessible parameters for installer-level adjustment and fine-tuning.

A key advantage for swing gate applications is its true master–slave configuration, achieved using only a 5-core connection. This allows both gate leaves to operate in complete synchronisation, responding seamlessly to all control inputs and safety activations while maintaining consistent performance and overall system integrity.

The D6000 D380 is powered by a heavy-duty drive unit with a three-phase electromechanical motor and gearbox assembly, delivering outstanding torque with smooth, efficient performance. Engineered to operate reliably in demanding conditions, including high wind exposure, it represents one of the most powerful swing gate drive systems available on the market today.

Paired with a FEIG controller, the system runs from a single-phase supply while maintaining the performance benefits of a three-phase drive for maximum efficiency, reliability and control. An integrated FEIG encoder provides high-resolution positional feedback, ensuring precise motion control and accurate gate positioning.

GATE DRIVE

SAFETY SYSTEMS

The D6000 D380 is supplied as standard with a comprehensive safety package, including dual-height photocells for enhanced presence detection. Each gate leaf is fitted with Category 3 safety edges, comprising two lower horizontal edges and one closing vertical edge per leaf, providing full protection across the primary risk zones.

In addition, the D380 motor enclosure has a safety edges installed to help safeguard against entrapment. The system is further complemented by a post-mounted beacon sounder, delivering clear visual and audible warnings during gate operation.

SINGLE LEAF OPTION

The D6000 D380 is available in both single-leaf and double-leaf configurations, with single-leaf gates capable of spanning openings up to 8,000 mm and double-leaf arrangements covering openings up to 16,000 mm, with gate heights available up to 5,000 mm. As standard, the system is supplied with dedicated closing arrangements and a 500 kg-rated magnetic lock to provide secure and reliable closure, along with dual photocells mounted to the gate posts for safety coverage and obstacle detection during operation.

HD GATE HINGES

The D6000 D380 is fitted with heavy-duty CR60 adjustable weld-on hinges, designed for large swing gate applications. Each hinge features a double-bearing arrangement and lubricating pin to support smooth movement, easier adjustment and long-term operational reliability, with a rated capacity of up to 680 kg per hinge.

GATE INFILL OPTIONS

A wide range of gate infill options is available to meet security and design requirements. Standard choices include vertical steel tubes, welded mesh, and palisade systems, with additional options such as composite boards and timber cladding.

Custom sheet steel panels can also be laser-cut with logos or branding, combining strong security with a distinctive visual identity.

Post Types

1. Standard Post (Subsurface Fixing)

The standard post is designed for installation with the base plate positioned 300 mm below Finished Floor Level (FFL). This configuration allows for initial mechanical fixing of the post, followed by installation of ducting and cable infrastructure. Finalbackfilling and consolidation can then be carried out once all services are in place and post alignment/levelling has been completed.

The offset post utilises the same installation depth of 300 mm below FFL, but incorporates an eccentrically positioned (offset) base plate. This design facilitates installation in restricted or boundary-adjacent locations, such as against brickwork or structural walls, where standard base plate positioning would be impractical.

2. Offset Post (Subsurface Fixing with Eccentric Base Plate)

3. Surface Mount Post (Above-Ground Fixing)

The surface mount post is designed for installation directly at FFL, eliminating the need for excavation and backfilling. This configuration enables rapid installation and is particularly suited to sites where subsurface works are not feasible or must be minimised.
