D3250 Automatic Barrier
D3250 Automatic Barrier has been the most popular barrier in our range since it’s introduction due to its smart appearance and ease of set up. The barrier is available to cover carriageways of up to 7m with a plain boom or 5m with a full hi-bar upper and lower skirt.
The D3250 can be fitted with lower skirts or hi-bar skirts to deter pedestrians from bypassing the barrier and LED boom lights combined with STOP signs add to the visibility of the barrier to drivers in all weather conditions.

Pole Options
The D3250 offers three pole configurations to suit different applications:
Plain Aluminium Pole – Powder-coated aluminium with red striping, with the option to incorporate integrated LED strip lighting operating as red/green traffic indication. Available up to 7 metres.
Bottom Skirt Pole – Features a lower skirt with an aluminium extrusion designed to house a safety edge. Available up to 6 metres.
Full Hi-Bar Skirt Pole – A full-height skirt system that can also incorporate a safety edge for enhanced protection. Available up to 5 metres.
Both skirt options are securely attached to the barrier, helping to prevent wind damage and improve durability in exposed environments.
The D3250 is equipped with a three-phase motor and gearbox, delivering a 100% duty cycle while only requiring a single-phase supply from the Feig controller. Its heavy-duty gearbox eliminates the need for spring assistance, allowing for easier installation and setup, as well as lower maintenance requirements.

Controller
The D3250 is supplied with a Feig controller that delivers 3 phase power to the motor and gearbox. With adjustable speeds and slowdown settings, installers can easily fine-tune the barrier for exceptionally smooth operation.
Featuring hundreds of easily accessible parameters and built-in obstacle detection, the system offers both flexibility and safety. The software has been developed in collaboration between Ultimation and Feig, ensuring the D3250 stands out as one of the best-performing barriers on the market.
Encoder Driven
The D3250 features a Feig encoder directly coupled to the gearbox, providing precise monitoring and control of the barrier’s operation.
This advanced encoder enables built-in obstacle detection, making the D3250 one of the safest three-phase barriers available on the market today.
By eliminating the need for traditional limit switches, the system ensures ultra-precise positioning while also simplifying setup and commissioning.
The barrier has been designed with the installer in mind, while still maintaining strong aesthetics. Its clamshell-style covers are fully removable, allowing for easy installation and maintenance. The covers can also be quickly replaced if damaged, reducing downtime and simplifying servicing.

Pole Design
The barrier pole is engineered with an integrated aluminium extrusion that incorporates LED lighting, skirts, and a safety edge.
This clean, integrated design enhances the overall appearance while ensuring that key components such as skirts and lighting can be easily replaced if damaged, making on-site maintenance fast and efficient.
Master/Slave Option
The D3250 can be configured in a master and slave setup, simplifying installations that require paired barrier operation.
Only a simple 5-core cable is required between the two barriers, with the software providing true master/slave functionality. All signals are replicated, ensuring the slave barrier precisely mirrors the operation of the master.
UMD offers the option of factory-fitted Feig radar on the D3250 barriers. This state-of-the-art radar system eliminates the need for traditional induction loops, resulting in a much simpler installation and avoiding any disruption to the road surface.
Installation is straightforward, with setup completed via the Feig app. The radar provides a wide range of configurable options, offering greater flexibility than conventional loop systems. Features include direction-of-travel detection and the ability to detect pedestrians within the safety field only.
This factory-fitted solution makes the D3250 one of the easiest and most efficient barriers on the market to install.

Bespoke Traffic lights
We offer bespoke traffic light solutions to suit a wide range of applications. Options include integrated laser-cut apertures within the barrier covers, illuminated with LED lighting to function as clear traffic signals.
Alternatively, traditional pole-mounted traffic lights can be supplied pre-mounted to the barrier, providing a familiar and highly visible signalling solution.
Both options are designed to integrate seamlessly with the barrier system, offering flexibility, improved safety, and enhanced site presentation.
Logo Design
We offer bespoke laser-cut logo designs integrated into the outer covers, allowing for a fully customised appearance.
These can be enhanced with colour-changing LED backlighting, creating a striking visual effect that complements front-of-house environments.
All D3250 barriers are supplied as standard with a primed and polyester powder-coated finish, ensuring durability and a high-quality appearance.
A wide range of standard RAL colours is available at no additional cost, allowing easy integration with site aesthetics.
Additional finish options include plasticoating, galvanising, and stainless steel for enhanced protection in demanding or corrosive environments.
